The founder of the holistic beauty concept Beloved, Alex Rambousková, prefers a neutral color palette and conscious living in both her professional and private life. She naturally filled her apartment and our conversation with harmony, genuine calm, and pure optimism.
Read about her thoughts on the concept of "wellbeing," what she went through during the apartment renovation, and why she fell in love with Lejaan bedding.
Alex, you are the founder of Beloved – a beauty concept dedicated to holistic care and a curated selection of quality products. What inspired you to found it?
A story as old as business itself. I didn't find what I was looking for on the market. A place where quality, aesthetics, and a pleasant environment converge. A brand that selects products from a broader perspective, seeking solutions to problems from different angles. It perceives things comprehensively, for example, that beautiful skin isn't just about cream, but also about vitamins and food supplements.
What does wellbeing mean to you, and how do you try to incorporate it into your daily life?
To this day, I haven't found a Czech equivalent for this word. If you search in literature, you most often come across the phrase: "Overall well-being in all areas of life."
Wellbeing is within us and around us. You cannot achieve an overall sense of well-being without balance, harmony, and self-care. Try to answer this – What rituals would your day have to consist of to have a constant sense of well-being? The answer will outline your personal wellbeing. The richness we live within ourselves is what we then experience externally. It doesn't work the other way around.

Alex's bathroom accessories consist of Playful Cotton towels and an Honest White bathrobe.
When you hear the word "timelessness," what comes to mind first?
Something I have no doubt I'll like even after a long time. Because the choice comes from me and what I genuinely like. I actively try not to adopt others' opinions.
What do Beloved and Lejaan concepts have in common?
A strong desire to provide people with quality and to develop their wellbeing.
You have completed an apartment renovation in collaboration with DŮMYSL studio. What was most important to you throughout the process?
Probably for the space to reflect our need for peace. For it to resonate with what we believe in and how we see the world. Martin from DŮMYSL studio didn't have it easy with us, but he was understanding. We always agreed and found a common solution in the end. Looking back, we thank him very much for it and recommend him to all our acquaintances.

Do you recall any moment during the renovation that you consider the most difficult?
We bought a new and completely finished apartment. But we knew it didn't match what we wanted to live in. We sat over the plans and finally decided to completely change the layout of the apartment, rip out the floors, replace the new kitchen… At one point, there was only concrete and bricks everywhere. It was financially and time-consuming. But we don't regret it!
And what was the absolute best?
When we realized what came out of it!
What does home mean to you, and what do you think makes it?
Home is made up of people and emotions. Small beautiful moments of everyday life. Playing with children, a kiss on the cheek from my husband, the smell of coffee, laughter, the sound of food being chopped, reading a bedtime story in bed.

Which part of it is your favorite?
We have a large terrace, actually larger than our apartment. I love evenings with friends at the grill with a view of the city, when the children jump on the trampoline or secretly pick strawberries and then have dirty faces. I love mornings on the yoga mat when it's still foggy outside. I love taking care of plants and herbs, even though I'm a beginner gardener. (laughs)
And which parts of your "home" do your children like the most?
Our bed, where almost every night all four of us end up. And when I ask them in the morning why they didn't stay in their own beds, they always reply that we have a better bed and that they love waking up in our arms.

Soft bedding and cloud-like fluffy fillings for the most comfortable shared moments.
Is there anything you still desire for your interior?
Both my husband and I love design, and we each have a few dream pieces that we gradually buy and give to each other for birthdays and Christmas.
How often do you change, move, or rearrange things in the apartment?
We haven't done it once yet. We like our apartment just the way it is.
What do you think everyone should have at home?
A feeling of being comfortable there.
You are a lover of minimalism and monochromatic solutions, which is also evident in your brand. Do you incorporate these factors into decorating your home?
I truly live what I feel. Beloved and the interior of our apartment are very much inspired by me. In many elements, they look quite similar, in some cases even identical. I believe that this authenticity is behind the great success of the brand.
You have also incorporated our products into your apartment. Tell us, when did you first get acquainted with Lejaan?
While furnishing the apartment. I was looking for the last pieces before finally moving in. My dream was to have the same feeling in my own bed as you get in luxury hotels – fluffy pillows, comfortable bedding… Simply a bed where you want to stay all day. (laughs) We started with one set of bedding. Now we own several, as well as the fillings and duvets themselves. And they are truly unsurpassed.
Which product from our offer do you like the most?
That's a tough question. Currently, probably the bathrobe, in which I sometimes spend the entire morning. And the pillows, which I look forward to every evening.

Even a diverse Mix & Match can still create a soft and neutral impression.
And what product is missing from our offer?
Woolen winter blankets.
What feeling does freshly made bed linen evoke in you?
The feeling that I want to spend the whole Sunday in them with a book in my hand.
Your morning ritual includes early rising and coffee on the terrace. Is there a daily routine that also accompanies your evenings?
I have two daughters who are relatively young – Elen is four and Thea recently celebrated her first birthday. Evenings revolve around bathing, putting them to sleep, tidying up after dinner, and catching up on work emails that I didn't have time for during the day.

Neutral children's room with a pop of color in the form of Grandma’s House brick-colored bedding.
You confided in us that you enjoy reading in bed. Could you give us some book recommendations at the end?
Don't expect anything revolutionary, as I have a demanding job and children, so I reach for books that someone recommends to me. And usually, I'm the last one in the wider area to read them. Most recently, it was the book Vrány by Dvořáková or Where the Crawdads Sing by Owens.
I haven't seen the movie adaptation of the latter yet, I don't like watching movies before I finish the book. But then I like to loudly criticize them for not sticking to the book and that's definitely not how I imagined it. (laughs)
