Do you have a HOME ritual?

With two children, I swore I wouldn't spend quiet evenings cleaning (especially dishes). So my daily ritual is to clean the kitchen before breakfast. I then feel like I'm starting the day with a "clean slate" and I function much better in a tidy space. And I also can't function without a made bed.

HOME SMELLS LIKE...

Like a walnut bundt cake, freshly ground coffee. And in the summer, like sunscreen, which I'm always applying to the kids.

What's your favorite spot in the apartment?

I recently joked on Instagram that it's the toilet. At least there's peace for a few minutes a day there. But otherwise, it's probably the children's room and our living room, which is a secondary children's room.

A hypothetical and unwanted scenario, but... If there was a fire, what three things would you save?

Photos, the coffee maker, and the computer. I'm a practical woman.

DO YOU HAVE ANY favorite home accessories?

I admit I'm not much for accessories; I don't like "dust collectors," but I love the Qubus vase and the Pond mirror by Ferm Living.

AND WHAT IS YOUR LEJAAN FAVORITE?

The Flat White bedding! I feel like I'm falling into a cloud every night.

HOW DID YOU ADAPT THE APARTMENT FOR THE CHILDREN?

We chose a darker colored sofa, which we didn't want to do.

WHERE DO YOU MOST ENJOY PLAYING WITH THE CHILDREN?

We alternate between the living room and the kids' room, even though toys are scattered in every corner of our apartment. We also often play hide-and-seek around the apartment.

DO YOUR CHILDREN SLEEP IN LEJAAN?

Yes, older Žofinka loves her Rebeca's Dream bedding.

WHAT AESTHETIC APPEALS TO YOU?

In recent years, I've realized that I love minimalism intertwined with aesthetic products for children or their creations. I enjoy having prominent Stapelstein balance elements, wooden animal figures, or a cool children's mat in the living room. Our apartment belongs to all of us, and I don't want to limit the children's space only to their room. We also plan to frame some drawings by our older daughter.

IF YOU COULD CHOOSE YOUR DREAM LEJAAN PRODUCT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

The Woven Monocolour throw. It looks beautiful draped over the bed, but also serves well for snuggling up in front of the TV.

WHAT SHOULD EVERYONE HAVE AT HOME?

A quality pillow, comfortable bedding, and whole bean coffee.

DO YOU HAVE ANY INTERIOR DESIGN PRINCIPLES YOU ADHERE TO?

Not anymore, unfortunately. All rules are permanently broken in our house, and no one respects my principles. (laughs)

WHERE DO YOU FIND INTERIOR DESIGN INSPIRATION YOURSELF?

On Instagram. It's the fastest source of inspiration.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE HOME GADGET?

Having an island with bar stools – our whole world revolves around this space. We eat here, work, cook, and chat with friends. I'm also grateful for the rounded corner of our bench in the hallway. It's safe for the children and aesthetic for us.

CAN YOU GIVE US THREE TIPS TO MAKE ANY SPACE COZIER?

A throw over the sofa, an interior scent, and flowers. Both cut and potted.

WHAT FOOD DO YOU MOST ENJOY EATING IN BED?

WHO WAS YOUR LAST VISITOR, AND WHAT DID YOU PREPARE FOR THEM?

Most often, we welcome my friends with their children, so that means plates full of fruit and vegetables, sweet and savory pancakes, and other snacks.
